  • Ginnie
    Technician

    Ginnie is a graduate of Nonnewaug High School.  She began working at BVH as a kennel attendant many years ago.  We are excited that she has become a technician!

    She enjoys all animals and has several of her own including dogs, cats, rabbits, and horses.  

  • Amy
    Technician

    Amy grew up in Hamden where she realized at a young age her love for animals. Amy joined BVH in December of 2017. She enjoys assisting the doctors in appointments as well as getting to know the clients. Amy has an interest in all aspects of the veterinary field. She relates well with cats and has quickly become known as the 'cat whisperer'. In her free time, Amy enjoys the outdoors and is an avid hockey fan. She has two rescue dogs, Kayla (a Pitbull mix) and Lucca (a Border Terrier mix).

  • Judy
    Receptionist

    Judy has been with us for many years, with over 25 years of experience in the field.  You will meet her on the phone or will be greeted by her at the front desk with a friendly smile.  She enjoys gardening, writing and taking care of her chickens.

  • Sheila
    Receptionist

    Sheila is originally from Massachusetts and moved to the area several years ago.  She and her family share their home with seven Newfoundlands, a rescue cat and 5 chickens.  Sheila is very active in the Newfoundland Clubs of America and New England.  She has bred and owned multiple Champion Newfoundlands and her offspring have competed at the Westminister and Eukanuba dog shows and have been featured on Animal Planet.  In addition to showing in conformation, Sheila's Newfies hold titles in Water Rescue, Draft Work and Rally Obedience.  They also perform water rescue demonstrations at Mystic Seaport's Safety on Sea and Show Weekend.

  • Taylor
    Receptionist

    Taylor has been with BVH since 2017. She grew up in the area and has always had a love for animals. She currently has 2 dogs and 3 cats. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and playing with her dogs, Bella and Zero.

    We are happy to have Taylor with us at BVH!

  • Janine
    Kennel Attendant

    Janine has been with us for many years and can be found behind the scenes caring for boarders and hospital patients since 2002. 

    Janine's professional interests include dog training and nutrition.  Outside of work, Janine enjoys spending time with her dogs - two rescued pit bull mixes and a Neapolitan mastiff.  Janine takes every opportunity to educate others about pit bulls and how wonderful they can be.  

  • Mikaela
    Kennel Attendant

    Mikaela is graduate of Naugatuck High School. She helps to take care of and attend to all the animals staying with us. She also enjoys helping the technicians and doctors with appointments. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, playing tennis, and studying physics. She has one dog, Lola.

  • Jillian
    Kennel Attendant

    Jillian has been a part of BVH since March of 2017. She is a recent graduate of Nonnewaug High School and is currently pursuing a degree in Animal Science/Pre-Vet at the University of Connecticut. Jillian plans to become a veterinarian. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, her lab mix named Myles and her rabbit named Fitz. Jillian also spends time volunteering at a therapeutic riding center, helping those with disabilities learn to ride.
